Hi I wonder if anyone can give me advice. I have a Galaxy Ghia 1.9 diesel on a 52 plate and my problems started with an ABS light illuminating on the dash. As the car was due a service I booked it in and asked them to try and sort the problem. The fault had then developed further with an intermittent fault now stopping the Speedo working, the fuel gauge goes to empty and the warning light comes on and buzzer keeps activating. The garage serviced the car but was unable to identify the exact cause of the problem as the said that the diagnostic computer could not see the system well enough to locate the fault.

I have also a longstanding problem with the front and rear parking sensors.

I am new to the world of forums so I apologise if these problems have been talked about before, I have had a look on the older queries but was not able to find an answer to the problems.

Thanks in anticipation.

did you go to a ford dealer for the service/check? if not it sounds like they are the people to have a look at it, their diagnostic equipment tends to be a bit better than your average local garage, and they have had many hours experience of ford vehicles after all! sounds like a major electrical issue, possibly ecu related. that said, it could just as easily turn out to be a loose earth connection or faulty power relay, its sometimes that simple. get a diagnosis for the price of an hours labour, it will give you a good start to sorting out the trouble.

thats a laugh, thats why theres a forum like ours.

its because the robbing gits dont have a clue on what there doing, especially as the op's is mostly vw.

i suggest buying a obd11 lead,do a search on here for the required info, that way you can then read most of the general codes yourself.

iirc the lead costs around 10-20 quid from ebay, there are various posts on the subject, save you a fortune within 1 diagnostic visit to the stealers.

there may even be a member who lives near you who would be able to read the codes for you?

wait a bit someone may offer some help.

For the diesel engine you need a VAG-COM compatible lead (I got mine from ebay) as it is the VW engine. For your Instrument Cluster problems try looking at these threads

Thread 1

Thread 2

Also search for "instruments" in the Forums using the Search box at the top right of this page.

Good luck
